Templar & Masonic Connections at Ireland’s Most Haunted House

Ireland is more relevant to the Knights Templar than we have been led to believe, and also to Freemasonry. I’d like to share an excerpt from my book with glimpses of some of the messages hidden in plain view that I decoded:

“The concept of freemasonry is closely associated with architecture and sacred geometry. It is also inextricably linked to knowledge of mathematics. The Masonic symbols of the square and compass are the two most important tools of stonemasonry. However, they actually stand for God and Man. These important symbols and many others are part of Loftus Hall. And they await to be read to tell their story. Even today, an eerie feeling creeps over me upon seeing them, immediately after the new main door which was built in the 1800s. As we step inside, a beautiful Victorian tiled floor welcomes us into this Hall of dreams. But the floor, which was built during the 19th century, is a true cryptogram of Masonic symbolism. And like all Masonic images it hides an inner meaning. To decipher it, we must look at it layer by layer, not with our eyes but hearts.

On first glance, it is reminiscent of the checkerboard62 design of many Masonic lodges. This pattern is a representation of the ground floor of King Solomon’s Temple which

symbolises the complex relationship of good and evil in life. However, the floor in Loftus Hall is a much more elaborate design. I remember how after it was completed, I had stood there many times admiring it in silence, amazed at its perfection.

The floor in the small entrance area is made up of large and small overlapping circles with eye-like borders. The larger circles contain the a sixteen-point cross known as the Vergina Star containing the eight-pointed star of the Order of St Patrick and inside it, The Maltese cross of the Knights of St. John. The smaller circles again contain the Vergina Star or inside a square. A border with the Templar Cross surrounds the design. This border is surrounded by other decorative borders which include a border with what appears to be a fig pattern and another with a checkerboard design. The threshold transition floor of the doorway has four eight-pointed stars within a circle, surrounded by squares and triangles. Each circle of stars here is separated by smaller triangles which resemble an hourglass. As a Masonic symbol it has various meanings; firstly, it is emblem of human life It also symbolises transformation and is linked to the meaning of the eight-pointed star. It also represents the letter “X”68 which alludes to the skull and bones; the transience of the material world and human body.

Before we advance into the entrance hall, we can see a pattern that is repeated continuously around the floor. Once our eyes examine the image, the pattern reveals a delightful surprise. It is actually a border made up by the Masonic square and compass. The floor of this reception room is a wonder in itself. It repeats the design we encountered in the entrance but the focal point of the room is a circle encompassing four stars of various sizes and points inside each other. The largest of these is an eight-pointed star which contains a smaller 8-pointed star. This contains a circle with a third star with 16 points known as the Vergina Star which is related to Alexander the Great and is believed to symbolise the sun. Inside this star there is a smaller star and the Templar cross within.

The meaning of this floor centre-piece is highly complex. The eight-pointed star here is symbolic of the Masonic Most Illustrious Order of St. Patrick to which many members of the Loftus family belonged to. But it is also the star of chaos. As such, it represents a gateway. It is believed that in the sky there is a celestial cross which is formed by the centre of the Milky Way galaxy and from the centre point of the celestial equator to the southern point of the celestial equator. Thus, we obtain the divine cross of the heavens and the mundane cross which is formed by the angles between equinox and the solstice. Therefore this cross represents the alignment in space and time of the divine cross above and the terrestrial cross below. It is Jacob’s ladder; the gateway between heaven and earth. Thus, the star is symbolic of crossing ley lines; the Templar energy meridians.

I now realised the strange synchronicity of it all. Loftus Hall is on a vortex of two ley lines that cross. There is no doubt about why the Knights Templar chose to come to this enigmatic land. Strangely, the main ley line which runs through the Hall aligns with the Milky Way. What is even stranger and left us all without words was that the floor of this room clearly states this. The Larger stars are the galaxy which contains our sun. In turn the sun contains the Templar Cross. The eight-pointed star also represents the number 8, symbolic of eternity as well as the pagan wheel of the year which was of great importance to the druids. But it has a much darker meaning. And the Templar Knights knew about this. This star also appears in the Goetia of the Lesser Key of Salomon the King. The scrolls that would later compose this magic grimoire were brought back to Europe by the Knights Templar. It was believed to have been written by King Solomon himself who was a magician and contained seals to summon evil and good spirits…”

What is interesting to note is that the five-pointed star associated with the Knights Templar and which was also on King Solomon’s ring given to him by Archangel Michael to command demons and angels, corresponds to the star of Astaroth, seal 29 (which add up to 11, remember I always keep on going on about 11? Also check out the use of the Templar cross in this seal…”. Astaroth is the Great Duke of Hell and part of what in Christianity is known as the evil trinity. However, this name is sometimes seen in female form as “Ashtoreth” which is an intentional Hebrew misspelling for the Canaanite (Phoenician) Goddess “Astarte”, worshiped in Egypt and Ugarit and among the Hittites, as well as in Canaan. This is relevant as Canaan, where the Israelites later settled was actually an Egyptian province. Astarte is well known as a goddess of sexual love and fertility but also has associations with war but also Venus. She is sometimes confused with Asherah, although this is a different goddess. One of her many titles was “Queen of Heaven” which was also a title given to the Virgin Mary and Isis. Together with Asherah and Anath, she was one of the three great goddesses of the Canaanite pantheon. Her symbols were the lion, the horse, the sphinx (associated with wisdom), the dove, and a star within a circle indicating the planet Venus, but also the horse. Remember the most famous seal of the Knights Templar riding on a horse? No, it isn’t a concidence and yes it is tied to all this, more to come soon on my upcoming book on the Knights Templar “The Way of the Rose”.
